50th Birthday Card

Wow! So that week went quickly, and it's back to work tomorrow.  I've had a lovely restful week off, didn't get a lot achieved, but never mind.

Here is one of the cards that I did make this week.  I used the lovely Simply Stars stamp set and teamed it with Very Vanilla card stock, Melon Mambo and silver ink, ribbon and a little bit of glimmer paper.  Hope you like it.

Hope you all have a good week.  Bye for now and take care.

More Petal Parade

So, here I am, back again.  Not posting regularly, but still around.  I haven't made many cards this year so far but am aiming to remedy this now it's half term.  In fact I've got a list of cards to make, and I'm always more productive when I have a list to go by!

This is one of the few cards I have made recently.  I stamped a piece of white card with Petal Parade (SAB) in this season's In-Colours.  The I cut it into three panels to mount on a white card.  I stamped the sentiment from Cycle Celebration in Strawberry Slush onto white card and cut it into a strip which I them mounted onto Strawberry Slush card stock.  A couple of little punched out flowers and gems completed the look.

I'm having a quiet week this week.  Emily is buried with college assignments and university interview preparation.  Edward has homework too.  As I said - I have lots of cards to make.  March is one of my busiest months for birthdays so I definitely need to get a head start.  I also have another little project on the go that Emily has tasked me with - a Harry Potter jewellery box!  Before Christmas she saw one on Etsy and I said (stupidly!), "Oh, I can make that for a lot less money!"  What was I thinking of?  Anyway, we bought a plain wooden box and tracked down the papers, and it is currently waiting for the undercoat to dry before I start on it properly tomorrow - wish me luck!

Emily is quite good at giving me little tasks.  She went on a college trip to Disneyland Paris the week before last, and apparently I am going to be doing some Disney scrapbooking for her as well.  It's no wonder I have no time for making cards!

Anyway, that's me for now.  Hope all is well with you and thanks for dropping by.

Take care

Card Swap 11

Hi everyone.  Well January is over and what a long month it has been.  "Junk Free January" is finally over and I am so proud that I didn't weaken once.  Both Mark and Emily were successful too.  For me, it was more about challenging myself and proving that I actually do have some will-power.  The funny thing is, that now I can actually have some chocolate today, I don't really fancy it - how ironic!

Today I am sharing the card I made for Alison, for the January card swap.  I had a lovely email from her, so I know that it went down well.

The brief was to make a fancy-fold card.  This isn't really my forte, so I went back to a tried and tested one for me - a concertina card.

I cut the card from Basic Black cardstock and used my trusty Simply Scored.  The papers are the very beautiful Sweet Sorbet DSP from the Sale-a-bration promotion.  The flowers are from the new Spring/Summer catalogue and are called Petite Petals.  They are so sweet and there is a matching punch too.

To be honest, I'm finding it a bit hard to get my crafting mojo back on track at the moment.  January has been rather a stressful month.  I'm also doing a course for work which runs for 10 weeks and involves weekly homework (information that wasn't forthcoming when I agreed to do it!).  I was supposed to be making cards today, but that hasn't happened either. Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

I hope you are having a good weekend.  Thanks for dropping by.

Take care
