Well, it's Sunday evening and the holidays are nearly over. Although both my children go back tomorrow, I still have one more day. That is not to say it will be a calm lazy day. Oh no, well certainly not in the morning. I will still be getting up at 6am to get Emily out of the house by 7.30am (she is starting a new work placement and has to be there earlier than her previous place), and then I'll be whizzing back, traffic permitting, to pick Edward up and drop him at school with his saxophone (couldn't learn a small instrument could he?!). And no doubt my lovely Chloe will turn her big brown eyes towards the front door, and sigh meaningfully!
Hopefully after all that, I may find a little crafting time. Today, I've done something I'm quite proud off. Now don't laugh - I've been making Christmas crackers with the new SU envelope punch board! I really wanted to make some for Christmas presents for my fellow Scrapbaggers, but time ran away with me. So I decided to get ahead of the game for Christmas 2014. They are not ready to share, I've only made the basic cracker and covered them with paper, and I'm probably going to leave embellishing them for another time, but the main work is done. Maybe I'll pop a photo of them on here in the next few days, we'll see.
However I do want to share a card with you tonight. I have used the beautiful Sweet Sorbet DSP from the new SU Sale-a-bration promotion, to create a thank you card. I love this floral paper, it's definitely one of my favourites from the pack. I kept the colour scheme to Pool Party, Basic Black and Whisper White. The sentiment is from Four You, and I just added some grosgrain ribbon and a couple of gems.
I hope you like the card. It was very quick to make and looks quite pretty.
How's it going with any resolutions you have made? I have not made any as such, although Mark, Emily and I are doing something Emily is calling Junk-Free January! We have given up puddings, chocolate, fizzy drinks, biscuits, cakes, takeaways etc and we are allowed alcohol only at weekends! It's very hard :( The trouble is, we have so much chocolate knocking around. As some of you know, I work in a school, and the children and parents are very generous. Therefore I have had to put a huge plastic storage box of lovely goodies away at the back of my under stairs cupboard so that we will not be tempted - I feel like it's calling to me!! However, I WILL RESIST.
Thanks for dropping by, and as always your comments mean so much to me. Good luck with your resolutions - I'll keep you posted about JFJ!
Take care
